1 Sommelier and 1 Assistant General Manager are wanted for a michelin star restaurant in Birmingham

This is an exciting & innovative modern British Michelin Star restaurant. The menu focus is on local, sustainable and highly seasonal British ingredients and the restaurant offers set Tasting Menus with Wine Pairing.

Role/Requirements
Looking for individuals who are:
Passionate & excited about British Food & Natural Wine
A strong leader & a management entrepreneur with great ambition to progress & create a fun & dynamic atmosphere
Able to demonstrate enthusiasm, confidence & energy when dealing with customers & colleagues
Inquisitive and eager to learn
Commercially & environmentally minded with some financial experience
Action-orientated, proactive & autonomous
Proficient in Microsoft Office with experience in managing Social Media accounts

The ideal candidates will have great organisational skills along with the passion & commitment to deliver a dynamic service environment for both their colleagues & the restaurant’s guests.While professional wine qualifications (such as WSET) are not imperative, an awareness of & enthusiasm towards ‘Natural’ wine with experience delivering wine pairings to guests would be excellent.

Must have UK experience. They would consider candidates from outside of the UK. However, they would have to be completely fluent in English. A trial will also be needed. They are not bothered about things like visible piercings or tattoos, in fact, a majority of them have them. Good personal hygiene is important as well as an inherent care for individual style & appearance.

What is offered

Salary: £21,000 p/a gross.Tips approximately £7,200 p/a.
5 days/week, 2 off ( closed Sunday and Monday). They all work split shifts Tues-Sat. 28 days holiday which are taken together as a team. Extensive Training in Food & Wine including professional qualifications. Exclusive Staff day trips to visit suppliers. Free staff meals. Pension scheme
