Vana Tallinn Baltic Sommelier Grand Prix tiitli võitis septembris Ronalds Pētersons Lätist. Teise koha saavutas Martynas Pravilonis Leedust ja kolmandaks tuli Ketri Leis Eestist. Noorsommeljee tiitli võitis Helen Aasmann Eestist.
“Võistlus oli väga tasavägine ja ma olen väga õnnelik, et ma võitsin. Võrreldes viie aasta taguse ajaga, kui ma esimene kord võitsin, olid ülesandeid läinud keerulisemaks. Ma arvan, et minu tugevuseks oli praktiline harjutus, kus tuli demonstreerida oma oskusi kliendi teenindamisel,” sõnas Baltimaade parim sommeljee Ronalds Pētersons Lätist, kes pälvis Baltimaade parima sommeljee tiitli ka 2013. aastal.

Eelvoorus näitasid võistlejad oma erialaseid teadmisi nii kirjalikus testis kui ka erinevaid praktilisi ülesandeid sooritades. Finaalis tuli professionaalseid oskusi näidata mitmesuguste üllatusülesannete täitmisel.
„Võitlustel osalemine võimaldadab sommeljeel mõista, mis on tema nõrgad küljed ja ennast siis vastavalt täiendada. Ma olen osalenud väga paljudes sommeljeede võistluste žüriides ning Baltimaade sommeljeesid kohtan erinevatel võistlustel järjest rohkem. See näitab kui pühendunud on Eesti, Läti ja Leedu sommeljeed oma erialale,“ selgitas võistluse peakohtunik rahvusvahelise sommeljeede assotsiatsiooni A.S.I. president Andres Rosberg Argentiinast.
Baltikumi parima sommeljee tiitlile võistlejad pidid vastama näiteks sellistele küsimustele:

Ronalds Petersons from Latvia won the Vana Tallinn Baltic Sommelier Grand Prix in september. With Martynas Pravilonis as the first runner up and Ketri Leis from Estonia as second. Best junior candidate was Helen Aasmann.
“I am really happy that I won, because the competition was really even. Compared to the level 5 years ago, when I won the first time, tasks have gone more difficult. I think that practical tasks, were you have to show skills in serving clients, were my strength” said Best Sommelier in Baltics Ronalds Pētersons, who won the title in 2013 as well.

„Competing helps sommeliers understand what are their weaknesses and then improve yourself. I have participated in lots of juries and keep meeting more and more sommeliers from Baltics. That shows how dedicated sommeliers from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are.” sais head of the jury and The President of A.S.I Andres Rosberg from Argentina.
