Best Sommelier of the Americas 2018: vaid nädal jäänud
Countdown to the ASI & APAS Contest of the Best Sommelier of the Americas 2018: one week to go
Sommellerie core values take the stage in Montreal
Montréal, Canada May 15 – Andrés Rosberg, the President of ASI (Association de la Sommellerie Internationale) said the ASI & APAS Contest of the Best Sommeliers of the Americas is among the most significant events organized by the organization. He stressed that international sommelier competitions promote “the most important values of our profession: excellence, commitment to service, humility and hard work.”
The ASI & APAS Contest of the Best Sommeliers of the Americas will start next week in Montreal with 22 participants from eleven countries, special guests and several personalities from the world sommelier elite. The most important Canadian wine organizations will be hosting seminars and meals along the week. Wines from Argentina and France are also part of the tasting and seminars schedule.
The event is part of the ASI continental sommelier competitions. According to Rosberg “national, continental or world sommelier competitions are at the very core of ASI”. “They are part of the DNA of this fifty-year-old organization, and this makes us very proud”, he added.
Rosberg explained that “these events are also the time to connect with other actors of this profession and to learn how the role of the sommelier is growing and developing more and more influence both regionally and globally.”
The President of ASI added that “this time in Canada, people can expect to see many of the best sommeliers of the Americas at their best.” “We will have a fantastic group of 22 young sommeliers from 11 countries, a new generation of leaders that are the best example of how sommellerie is becoming stronger and stronger in the Americas.”
During the week of the contest the delegates, guests and press are invited to take part in many exciting seminars and tastings.
